A Message from Episcopal Relief and Development

Water for Thought

Each day, we turn on the faucet, and there it is: clean water for drinking, bathing, or even watering our plants or lawn. For most of us, water is not a problem.

Around the world, nearly 1.2 billion people do not have access to clean water. In many communities, women and children have to travel several miles on foot each day to collect what little water is available. Dirty water contributes to disease, malnutrition and generations of poverty.

You can make a difference in the lives of people lacking access to safe water.

Your support of ERD's Clean Water Fund:

• Builds community wells and water systems
• Protects water sources from pollution
• Improves sanitation systems and constructs latrines

Your contribution can help bring new wells to communities or install purification systems in areas where the water is contaminated by livestock or waste.

Your support is changing lives in places such as the Cunene district in Angola, Northern Luzon region of the Philippines and San Lorenzo Municipality in Nicaragua. By partnering with ERD, your contribution will give clean water to families, provide training in improved hygiene practices and even produce more food through better irrigation.

Please give today so that people around the world can have clean, safe water.
Faithfully,

Robert W. Radtke
President
