When Planning Your Weekly Grocery Shopping...

...please remember to bring your checkbooks with you to church on Sundays. Five percent of every Stop and Shop gift card purchased at St. Paul's is received by the parish as a donation. If, as I understand from the folks in Hartford, the average monthly grocery bill for a Connecticut family is $300, that's $15 per family unit per month that we receive.

In other words, unless my math is completely off [with apologies to my dad, the mathematician], if every family of St. Paul's uses the gift cards to purchase their monthly groceries, that's an extra $1500-$3000 a month in raised income for our parish.

It goes without saying that this would lighten our budgetary concerns and enable us to continue to grow our various ministries in an appropriate manner.
