An Ordination this Saturday

Last Sunday, the children of the parish and I had the pleasure to present Knute Hansen with a set of deacon's stoles for use in what will soon be his ordained ministry. These stoles were gifts of the parish and include not only the red stole in which he will be ordained, but also the green one that he will wear in service to St. Paul's over the next two Sundays. [And a white and a purple stole, as well.]

The ordination itself will take place at Christ Church Cathedral in Hartford this Saturday at 10:30 am. If you have not seen the elegance of an ordination in the Episcopal Church, this would be a fine opportunity.

Also, please know that during coffee hour on Sunday we will recognize Knute's lay and ordained ministry with us. As he will be leaving in two weeks to begin work with his new congregation, this will be a final opportunity for us to personally thank him for his years of service, often unheralded, to the people of St. Paul's.
