Chasuble
From Latin, casula, meaning "little house". A chasuble is the vestment worn by the celebrant during Communion. It is usually shaped like a Mexican poncho, with a hole for the head to pass through. The chasuble may have been derived from an ancient Roman cloak that was a common accessory for members of the early Christian Church.
