Some Follow-Up to the Lenten Series

I neglected to tell the tale of the fate of the original St. Paul's Church building in last night's presentation. Sorry, but I sometimes get carried away with other things. [You've noticed that, haven't you?]

Allow me to quote from the history of St. Paul's, as found on the parish web site:

In 1811, a well-meaning townsman named Sidney DeForest attempted to rid the Church belfry of pigeons by shooting them. In the process, the wadding from his musket set the Church on fire, and it was destroyed.

Oops.
