The News for Easter Wednesday

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I recently had occasion to learn about weblogs and realized how useful they would be in disseminating information to the parish, especially news that occurs between Sundays.

It is also a useful tool for listing items of general interest to the congregation concerning recent books and other publications, marking historical moments in the Episcopal Church and world Chrisitanity, and providing links to media articles about current events.

While our hope is that we will have something new every day, please remember that this is a new, unfolding art form. Clearly, we will have some weeks of experimentation as we create the ideal style of "blog" for our parish. For the time being, I will serve as the editor of this site, but will welcome suggestions and advice, as well as submissions.

Certainly, it seems proper to engage in something this new during Easter Week. With that in mind, I offer the Collect for Easter Wednesday:

O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
